Why I Get Involved
I know that the more people who are aware of the hard work that these organizations do, the more they will be encouraged to get out and help in what ever ways they can! Mike's Charitable Efforts
We help organize left over food from our team's clubhouses to be delivered to nearby shelters with the help of local Rock N' Wrap It Up! volunteers. To learn more about how you can be involved in starting a RWU! program in your community, please visit www.rockandwrapitup.org I also participate with fundraising activities for the National MS Society. This cause is close to my heart because my dad, Bill, was diagnosed with MS almost three years ago. Of the many activities the MS Society sponsors, we are specifically involved in the Christopher and Banks MS Walk at Comerica Park and this year we will host the 2nd annual "Strike Out MS Bowling Spectacular" sponsored by Rock Financial at the Troy Thunderbird Lanes in August. Last year, the event raised over $50,000 for the Michigan Chapter of the National MS Society. To honor the many incredible sacrifices made by America's veterans, I also support the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) by visiting vets in hospitals across the country. In addition to those, I enjoy speaking at local churches in Michigan and Florida. I also speak at the annual "Home Plate" event at Comerica Park hosted by our team chaplain, Jeff Totten.
